The story of the cum-lauders (part-9): Best Graduate – Charter for my Parents

Novita Purnamasari Hendarmin, S.Pd was chosen as one of the best graduates at the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Indonesian University of Education in 2020. She started her journey as a student in 2015 at the UPI campus and finished his studies on December 30, 2019. She had to go through many processes before he could reach that position. Just like other students, she has many dreams to present to his parents. Of course, it is not easy to achieve that dream, there are many obstacles that must be faced.

“Since high school I wanted to have a suitable certificate of appreciation as a gift for my parents, several times I participated in competitions I could only bring home a certificate as a participant. One of the highest awards he has ever won is the 3rd winner at the regional level 1 Dental Medicine Intellectual Challenge 2014 and won a medal. “

While undergoing college, there are still dreams of getting a higher charter. Finally, this girl who was born in Bandung decided to join the UPI LEPPIM (Student Intellectual Research and Research Institute) with high hopes there. However, the reality is not as easy as imagined, competition at the tertiary level is much more difficult. From 2016, she participated in various competitions, finally she was only able to qualify for the final match at the end of 2018. “Alhamdulillaah passed the 2018 Agribusiness Business Plan Competition as a finalist. It was the first time for a presentation in front of a large audience. Even though I didn’t win, it was an extraordinary experience”.

At the beginning of 2019, this Muslimah who was once a ready-to-wear student (SSG) of Da’arut Tauhid batch 35 no longer participates in various competitions even though the spirit of competition at that time was still burning. She realized that as a student of course she had to complete her study obligations on time and she had to focus on the final project. The obstacles to completing the final project kept coming, until finally he could not attend the 3rd batch graduation (October 2019). There is a sense of disappointment because she is worried that it will make her parents sad.

However, she only hopes to graduate and be able to attend the next batch of graduation cum laude. “May Allah bestow, even God gives more not only cum laude, but also to be the best graduates at the Faculty level” Alhamdulillah.

She did not expect that she would become the best graduate and get 2 awards, namely as the best graduate of the Agricultural Industry Technology Education Study Program and as the best graduate of the first batch of undergraduate program in 2020. Then she presented a certificate of pride. it’s for her parents. She is very grateful for what she has accomplished. This graduation procession also made her parents feel proud, touched, and honored because they received flower garlands and shook hands with the UPI chancellor.

“Thank you for my parents who are always supportive, the lecturers who still guide, and friends who are always there. I am an ordinary person but Allah always takes care and gives the best for me. “

Barakallah.. we proud of you
