The industrial revolution 4.0 as a phase of the technological revolution has changed the way human activities are in scale, scope, complexity, and transformation from previous life experiences. Agro-industry needs to be responsive to the digitalization era in this era of industrial revolution 4.0.
Students as the younger generation are expected to have bright ideas and innovative creative ideas to answer the challenges and opportunities of the 4.0 industrial revolution era in agro-industrial development. The National Essay Competition which is part of the AGROFEST 10 activities was held to facilitate this.
The AGROFEST 10 National Essay Competition was attended by students from various universities in Indonesia, where 6 teams were selected to qualify for the final round which was held on Friday, November 30 2018 at the UPI campus. Here are six finalists:

All finalists presented their essays in front of 3 judges consisting of lecturers, researchers from universities and industry practitioners. The essay presentation will be held on Friday morning, 30 November 2018 until noon. Furthermore, all finalists had the opportunity to take a field trip to the national education museum and the KAA (Asian-African Conference) museum in Bandung.
SIAP succeeded in delivering Dio Firman Pangestu and Malikul Fanani from the University of Jember as 1st Place in the AGROFEST 10 National Essay Competition, followed by ITB students with the CASCARA Box title as the second winner and IPB students with the SENSORI ID title as the third winner.
Congratulations to the winners of the national essay competition as well as the finalists who have presented innovative and creative works for agro-industry 4.0.
