The Agro-Industry Technology Education Study Program (PTAg) as one of the two LPTKs (Educational Personnel Education Institutions) in Indonesia that prepares its graduates to become professional teachers at SMK Agribusiness and Agro-industry, must constantly improve the competence of its students so that they are ready to face changes in global society. Currently the world is entering the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is also termed the digital revolution and the era of technological disruption, where automation and connectivity have occurred in various fields of life.
The industrial revolution 4.0 as a phase of the technological revolution changes the way human activities are in scale, scope, complexity, and transformation from previous life experiences. The era of disruption due to digitalization in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 shifts the old way in a new way, where only disruptive innovative ones will survive. The world of education must be responsive to these changes, including vocational education such as SMK which must be able to produce graduates that are in accordance with the needs of the industrial world 4.0.
One important factor in the success of education is the teacher. Students of the PTAg study program as vocational teacher candidates are required to have professional teacher competencies, one of which is pedagogical competence in utilizing technology in agro-industrial learning. Knowledge and insight into ICT-based learning innovations (communication & information technology) are urgently needed by PTAg study program students to support vocational education in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
Therefore, the Agroindustry Technology Education Study Program will hold a public lecture on ICT-based learning innovations in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0., Together with educational technology experts, namely Dr. Cepi Riyana, M.Pd. on Thursday, November 8, 2018. This activity is for all UPI PTAg Study Program students.
